Man caught with a stolen laptop and a stolen cell phone has been sentenced
A man was sentenced Wednesday to two years and six months in prison for stealing a laptop and cell phone and illegally selling them on the darknet.
The 35-year-old pleaded guilty to the charges after being charged in January.
He had previously pleaded guilty in September to four counts of aggravated identity theft.
According to the indictment, the man, who identified himself as “K.C.,” sold the stolen laptop for $8,000.
He was arrested in December.
He had also allegedly sold the cell phone for $1,000 to a woman who had a credit card in her name.
The victim was not identified in the indictment.
