‘Luxury’ luxury photo studio in Florida goes belly up
LONDON — The owner of a luxury photo shoot studio in the Bahamas says he will close the facility.
The photographer, Ryan Jones, said Thursday he will move to an undisclosed location after being in business for more than 10 years.
He declined to say where or when the move will occur.
Jones, who is based in Florida, said he has about 30 employees at the facility and has rented it out since 2011.
The owner, an investment banker, said his company, the Luxury Photo Studio, had a monthly budget of about $200,000 and had been operating for about two years.
Jones said the company had a very good relationship with its landlord, and it was the right move.
But he said he was worried about his staff and their security.
He said the photos were shot by a handful of people, and many of them were former employees.
He said he plans to use a different company to handle the operation, which is still under contract.
The facility has a pool and a pool house.
Jones has said in the past he did not want his employees to be subject to the type of scrutiny that is being put on companies like Facebook.
He added he was not sure if he could afford to hire someone new.
He has said he will sell the photo studio, but did not say when.
